BEAVERTON, Ore. - Tektronix® today unveiled two additions to its power measurement portfolio: the wideband shunt for IsoVu™ isolated current probes and the THDP0400 high voltage differential probe.

The launches address a growing challenge in power electronics design. As silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) technologies push switching speeds higher across EVs, industrial systems, AI data centers and advanced power conversion applications, engineers are being asked to validate systems operating at higher voltages, faster edge rates and lower currents, where accurate shunt-based current measurements are becoming increasingly critical. Traditional measurement approaches can struggle to capture these behaviors accurately without adding complexity, noise, or uncertainty into the measurement itself.

Together, the new accessories expand the company's measurement coverage across the power-validation workflow - from precision low-current measurements to high-voltage switching applications - while helping engineers stay within a single, integrated ecosystem.

Completing the current measurement workflow

The new wideband shunts for IsoVu isolated current probes are the first shunts in Tektronix's precision current measurement portfolio-a highly anticipated addition that expands advanced current measurement capabilities.

For years engineers using advanced current measurement workflows often relied on third-party shunts to capture low-current transient behavior. The new shunts bring that capability into the trusted Tektronix measurement environment for the first time, creating a more complete and integrated current measurement solution.

Wideband shunts for IsoVu™ isolated current probes

Designed for low-current, high-bandwidth applications, the shunts help engineers capture transient current behavior that conventional clamp probes and standard shunts can miss, particularly in power integrity and power distribution network applications across semiconductor, embedded and AI infrastructure environments.

The shunts deliver bandwidth up to 250 MHz and are designed to work directly with IsoVu isolated current probes. Built-in communication, temperature compensation and integrated fuse protection help simplify setup while protecting instrumentation and devices under test during validation workflows.

Expanding high-voltage visibility

The new high voltage differential probe expands the THDP portfolio with a 400 MHz, ±2000 V model designed for high-voltage floating measurements and power-validation workflows.

Powered directly through the TekVPI™ interface, the probe integrates natively with 4 Series B, 5 Series B, and 6 Series B MSO oscilloscopes, eliminating the need for external power supplies and helping reduce setup complexity in high-power test environments.

Designed for applications including wide-bandgap semiconductor development, power converter validation and double-pulse testing, the probe helps engineers capture fast switching transients, preserve signal fidelity and make floating measurements with greater confidence in demanding high-power environments.
