The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following 4-H Youth Development Programs for August 2026. These programs are offered by Mary Lee Sale, 4-H Youth Development Agent.

4-H Enrollment Opens September 1, 2026

Enrollment for the 2026-2027 4-H year opens on September 1. Youth ages 5-18 and adults interested in volunteering are invited to join the largest youth development organization in the country right here in Alachua County. Clubs include animals, STEM, public speaking, leadership, creative arts, or showing in the Alachua County Youth Fair.

Youth membership is based on a child's age as of September 1 of the current program year, which runs from September 1, 2026, to August 31, 2027. A $25 annual membership fee applies to youth ages 8-18 who are enrolling in community clubs.

New families can create a profile and enroll through 4-H Online, and returning members should log in to update their information and re-enroll. To explore local club options, visit their website or reach out to Mary Lee Sale, 4-H Youth Development Agent, at [email protected] to find the right fit for your family.

4-H In-School Programs are designed to support academic standards while helping youth build life skills through interactive lessons in STEM, agriculture, healthy living, environmental science, leadership, and more.

Teachers are encouraged to sign their classrooms up for these educational opportunities. Programs are available for a variety of grade levels and can be customized to complement classroom learning goals. Science, agriculture and supplement academics are offered to classes.

Parents who would like to see more hands-on learning opportunities in their child's classroom can let their teacher know about Alachua County 4-H in-school programs and encourage them to connect with 4-H.

To learn more about available programs or to schedule a classroom experience, contact Jesse Price, 4-H Program Coordinator, at [email protected] or visit their website.
