Palm Beach County Library System Unlocks a Century of Local History with Free Digital Access to the Palm Beach Post Historical Archive

The Palm Beach County Library System (PBCLS) is proud to offer members free digital access to The Palm Beach Post Historical Archive. This resource is a comprehensive online database spanning more than a century of South Florida journalism from 1916 to the present day. This invaluable research tool gives residents, students, historians and genealogists the ability to browse fully digitized newspaper pages or search by specific people, places and events that have shaped Palm Beach County and the bordering regions.

The archive serves as a rich window into the growth and transformation of South Florida, documenting everything from local business developments and real estate trends to politics, cultural milestones and the everyday moments of community life. Users can trace the history of a neighborhood, research a family name or explore how major national events played out locally. There are generations of articles that reflect the region's evolving identity, from its early twentieth-century roots to the dynamic, diverse community it is today.

"South Florida has a remarkable and often underexplored history, and The Palm Beach Post has been there to record it since 1916," said James Larson, Director of Intellectual Resources for PBCLS. "We are proud to connect our residents with this extraordinary archive, which brings that history to life in a searchable, accessible format."
