Council will recognize revolutionary business, retiring top cop, Red Cross and more March 10

As part of the City's new Business Spotlight program to enhance economic development and recognize local businesses, the City Council on Tuesday, March 10 will highlight a visionary local manufacturer working to revolutionize an industry.

The business portion of the meeting starts at 6 pm in the Council Chamber, 200 Civic Center.

With Mission Viejo Chief of Police Services Captain Jason Ivins set to retire this month, the Council will recognize him for his service to the community.

The Council will also consider accepting grant revenues from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and use the funding to award a contract for certified professional dog trainer services at the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center.

During the presentation portion of the meeting, the Council will proclaim March as American Red Cross Month to honor the dedicated volunteers and supporters who provide humanitarian relief.

The Council will hold a public hearing to consider the application for the redevelopment of a portion of the Vista Del Lago apartment complex at 21622 Marguerite Parkway, a site that is part of the City's previously approved Housing Element for meeting state mandates. Last month, the City's Planning and Transportation Commission voted to recommend City Council approval of the plans.

Council meetings are streamed live on the City's website and air on Cox Channel 30 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99. Residents are encouraged to sign up for the City's eNewsletter and follow the City's official social media sites for the most accurate, up-to-date information.
