Study Provides Actionable Airport Security Compliance Strategies

March 19, 2025 - WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Chertoff Group, working with a team led by TransSolutions, has completed a comprehensive security compliance study for the National Safe Skies Alliance, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to serving U.S. airports. The findings offer airports actionable insights to enhance security compliance practices across airport operations.

Spanning airports of all sizes, the Program for Applied Research in Airport Security (PARAS) Report 0054 underscores the importance of a balanced approach that safeguards security without hindering operations. By clearly defining rules and consequences, proactively preventing violations and continuously auditing compliance, the report offers strategies that both strengthen security and streamline daily airport functions.

• Proactive Identification of Vulnerabilities - Regular audits, data tracking and root cause analysis reveal hidden gaps-such as unauthorized entry, unresolved alarms or improper badge use-enabling timely corrective actions.
• Scalable Solutions for Varying Airport Sizes - Whether an airport serves five million or fifty million passengers annually, the recommendations can be tailored to fit different budgets and operational complexities.
