WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE) issued the following statement after the Senate voted to pass five full-year appropriations bills. The Senate also passed a short-term continuing resolution for Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which is responsible for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), the U.S. Coast Guard, and several law enforcement agencies.
"I will continue to support the ongoing efforts to pass full-year appropriations bills. I am committed to funding DHS. Enforcing our immigration laws makes streets safer. With so many states feeling the impacts of Winter Storm Fern, we also must ensure FEMA funds do not lapse."
