"…tax relief for working families and small businesses are mutually reinforcing pillars of a strong, inclusive, opportunity-driven economy."
The following statement of support for H. Res. 1156 may be attributed to Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council (SBE Council) President & CEO Karen Kerrigan:
"The Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council (SBE Council) strongly supports H. Res. 1156, which upholds the value of tax policies that empower working families and strengthen the small business and entrepreneurial economy."
"The Working Families Tax Cuts Act represents pro-growth tax relief that is delivering meaningful benefits and support to the millions of small business owners and entrepreneurs who power the U.S. economy. Because most small businesses are structured as pass-through entities, their owners pay taxes at individual rates. As a result, permanently lower personal income tax rates, expanding the standard deduction, and enhancing family-focused tax relief directly improves the financial position of small business owners as they work to support their families and their businesses."
"When families have more take-home pay - whether through lower tax burdens, relief on tips and overtime, or expanded credits - they have more financial freedom and spend more in their local economies. That demand and security fuels small business revenues and reinforces the economic vitality of communities across the country. In this way, tax relief for working families and small businesses are mutually reinforcing pillars of a strong, inclusive, opportunity-driven economy."
"Business related provisions - such as the permanent 20% small business deduction, improved small business expensing and immediate R&D expensing - allow entrepreneurs to keep more of their earnings, innovate more rapidly, and deploy resources productively. The combination of individual and business tax relief is powerful: it strengthens cash flow, supports hiring and wage growth, and enables small firms to invest in equipment, technology, and expansion. From startups to established businesses, the Working Families Tax Cuts Act is working for entrepreneurs and small businesses across industries and at various stages of progression."
"At a time of rising entrepreneurship and increased reliance on flexible and independent work, policies that reward work, reduce tax complexity, and expand savings opportunities are more important than ever. They provide the certainty and resources that individuals need to take risks, start businesses, and grow them over time."
"H. Res. 1156 correctly recognizes that pro-family, pro-worker, and pro-entrepreneur tax policies are central to long-term economic growth and opportunity. SBE Council applauds this resolution and we look forward to working with Congress in advancing complimentary measures that support investment, innovation, and the success of America's working families and small businesses."
