Congresswoman Pou Votes Against Partisan Republican Funding Plan that Raises Health Care Costs

WASHINGTON, DC - Congresswoman Nellie Pou (D-NJ-09), today voted against House Republicans' partisan government funding bill that would raise health care costs for New Jersey families.

"As millions struggle to manage the high cost of living, Republicans have introduced a government funding bill that will only make Americans' lives harder," said Congresswoman Pou. "This bill does not protect Americans' health care. Nor does it allow Congress to finally stop the President's destructive tariffs that raise the price of groceries and everyday goods. Instead, it gives the President a blank check to continue his bad policies. After watching Congressional Republicans impose a tax break for millionaires paid for by the middle class, I cannot now accept inflicting yet more pain on regular Americans. Any government funding package must protect Americans' health care."

This week, Congresswoman Pou joined 35 Democratic colleagues demanding congressional leadership include a provision lowering health care costs in any government funding bill. Their letter is here.
