This morning, the City of Santa Fe celebrated the announcement of $2,345,000 in federal funding for improvements to the City's wastewater system during a ceremonial check presentation with Congresswoman Teresa Leger Fernández and Mayor Michael Garcia in City Council Chambers.
The funding, secured through the Fiscal Year 2026 federal spending bill (H.R. 6938), will support the design of a modern wastewater reclamation system at the Paseo Real Water Reclamation Facility. These improvements will help upgrade outdated infrastructure and reduce nutrient pollution entering the Santa Fe River.
Investments in wastewater infrastructure are critical to protecting water quality, strengthening the reliability of essential public utilities, and supporting Santa Fe's long-term environmental resilience.
The City of Santa Fe thanks Congresswoman Leger Fernández for securing this federal investment that will help advance essential infrastructure improvements for our community.
