BRODHEADSVILLE, PA: Today, U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan, Jr. (PA-08) joined leadership of the West End Fire Company and local officials for a press conference announcing a $1,170,000 federal investment he secured for the company. The funding will go towards the acquisition of a rescue truck and an engine truck.

"Volunteer fire departments are essential to community safety," said Rep. Bresnahan. "When emergency strikes, these brave volunteers answer the call and put their lives on the line for others. "On behalf of the West End Fire Company, I want to sincerely thank Congressman Bresnahan for his leadership and support in securing over $1 Million in federal funding for our department," said Mike Manfre, Jr. "Our members volunteer their time, train extensively, and respond at all hours, and that commitment is only possible with the support of their families and employers. This investment helps honor that commitment by giving them the tools they need to safely serve the community."

"Large capital purchases like firetrucks are among the biggest challenges volunteer fire companies face, and this funding helps us address those needs in a thoughtful and sustainable way," said former West End Fire Company President Jeff Weiss. "Thank you to Congressman Bresnahan and everyone who played a role in making this funding possible We take this responsibility seriously and are grateful for the trust placed in the West End Fire Company."

"I want to thank Congressman Bresnahan for helping secure over $1 Million in federal funding for the West End Fire Company," said Chestnuthill Township Chairman of the Board of Supervisors Chuck Gould. "This funding will go toward two new firetrucks, giving our firefighters dependable, up-to-date equipment to continue to serve our community safely and effectively. On behalf of Chestnuthill Township, I want to thank the volunteers of the West End Fire Company for everything they do day in and day out."

"As a state representative, I see every day how important it is for our local communities and volunteer fire companies to have reliable resources and strong partnerships at every level of government," said State Rep. Jack Rader. "This $1.1 million investment is a major win for Chestnuthill Township and for Monroe County. I want to thank Congressman Bresnahan for working closely with state and local leaders to deliver this funding and ensure our first responders have the equipment they need to protect our residents safely and effectively."
