(Charleston, W.Va.) - Due to inclement weather, all City of Charleston buildings/facilities-including City Hall, City Service Center, Parks and Recreation Community Centers and other administrative offices-will be closed Monday, January 26, 2026. Police, fire, and public works will report according to the direction provided by the department leadership/director. All other city staff will work remotely.
"Our crews were out ahead of the storm and have continued to treat roads and respond as conditions change. To ensure they can continue to operate safely, and our first responders can reach emergencies without unnecessary delay, folks are urged to limit travel when possible," said Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin. "I want to thank our Public Works team and our first responders for their hard work and their unwavering commitment to our Charleston community during this winter weather event."
Refuse Collection
Refuse collection will not be impacted.
City of Charleston Parking
Parking in city-owned garages and on-street city meters will be free Monday, January 26.
