Amwins Launches MGA Specializing in Casualty Solutions for Hard-to-Place Risks

Amwins, a leading distributor of specialty insurance products and services, today announced the launch of illumin Specialty, a managing general agency (MGA) offering primary general liability and excess liability coverage. Distributed exclusively through wholesale brokers, this addition expands Amwins Underwriting's in-house specialty casualty capabilities and reinforces its commitment to the E&S primary market.

Under the leadership of Rebecca Gitig, an industry veteran with more than 20 years' experience underwriting environmental and primary liability, illumin Specialty will focus on building practical coverage solutions for challenging exposures across segments where market dislocation and technical complexity often complicate placement.

Joining Gitig are Randy Villanueva, senior vice president, and Meredith McLelland, senior vice president, both bring deep experience underwriting casualty solutions across a broad range of industry classes.

The illumin Specialty team will work directly with wholesale brokers to offer non-admitted solutions for their clients' most complex risks and expects to finalize capacity and begin accepting new business in the fourth quarter.
