Board of County Commissioners' Schedule for May 4 - May 9

MONDAY, May 4
8:15 a.m. - Counties and Commissioners Acting Together (CCAT) All Member Meeting
The Board will attend the CCAT all member meeting to discuss the soon to be introduced County Human Services Consolidation/Regionalization bill.

9:00 a.m. - Fire Product Demonstration
Members of the Board will attend a Product Demonstration of a fire-retardant treatment designed to help reduce flame spread and radiant heat exposure on roofs and exterior surfaces. The demonstration will take place at the Valley Golf Course parking area at 600 Glacier Club Drive in Durango.

TUESDAY, May 5
8:30 a.m. - Executive Session
Pursuant to Colorado Revised Statute § 24-6-402 (4), upon the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the quorum present, the La Plata County Board of County Commissioners will hold an executive session to discuss the following matters:

1. For purposes of the Board receiving legal advice on specific legal questions pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(b). Purpose: Role of the lodger's tax panel mandated by Colorado statute; authorized use of lodger's tax funds for advertising and marketing purposes.
2. Determining positions relative to matters that may be subject to negotiations; developing strategy for negotiations; and instructing negotiators pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(e). Purpose: Possible negotiations with the City of Durango re: use of lodger's tax funds.
3. Personnel matters pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(f). Purpose: Bi-monthly personnel update with County Manager and County Attorney.

10:00 a.m. - Planning Agenda Meeting
The Board will consider:

1. Approval of a letter to local banks regarding form requirements for Letters of Credit.
2. Consideration of Project #PL20250085, Gelande Ski Lift Preliminary Plan.
3. Consideration of revisions to the Board's form development improvements agreements.

THURSDAY, May 7
4:00 p.m. - Commissioner Chat with Commissioner Matt Salka
Commissioner Matt Salka will host Commissioner Chat in Durango from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Residents are encouraged to stop by for an informal chat about county issues or concerns. Commissioner Chat will be held at the Pine River Library, located at 395 Bayfield Center Drive in Bayfield.

10:00 a.m. - FIRE READY EXPO
The Board will attend the FIRE READY EXPO, a free, family-friendly event aimed at enhancing community resilience against wildfires. The Expo will be held at the La Plata County Fairgrounds at 2500 Main Avenue from 10am to 3pm.
