Minister Tajani will be in Verona for the Conference of the Directors of the Italian Cultural Institutes
Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani will be in Verona today at 11:30 a.m. for the closing day of the Conference of the Directors of the Italian Cultural Institutes.
In his remarks, the Minister will outline the strategy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which, following the Ministry's reform, has identified cultural promotion as one of the key tools for economic growth, the internationalisation of the 'Sistema Italia', and support for businesses.
Minister of Tourism Gianmarco Mazzi will also attend the institutional session, during which Minister Tajani will announce a major new project to promote Italian music abroad.
Today, culture is one of the main drivers of national development. According to the most recent 'Io sono Cultura' Report, every euro generated by the cultural sector also generates EUR 1.7 in other sectors of the economy, resulting in a total impact of approximately EUR 310 billion, equal to 15.4% of the national wealth. These figures confirm that investing in culture strengthens Italy's international competitiveness and supports the country's growth, exports, and appeal.
Among the various projects, 'Territori. Racconti di architetture e vino' (Territories. Stories of Architecture and Wine) will also be presented. Conceived in collaboration with Vinitaly and produced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the project aims to highlight two elements that characterise these regions: their diverse architectural styles and their wine. The initiative offers a fresh perspective on Italy through ten cantine d'autore (signature cellars) scattered across the peninsula and the wines they produce, with the aim of highlighting a new narrative about Italy that resonates deeply with an international audience. The exhibition will be included in the programming of the diplomatic network and the Italian Cultural Institutes, complementing events dedicated to 'Made in Italy' and the wine sector, also in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency and Vinitaly's international initiatives.
