Democratic Party of Oregon Launches Billboard Highlighting Christine Drazan and Ron DeSantis’ MAGA Agenda Ahead of Joint Fundraiser

Portland, OR - Ahead of MAGA loyalist Ron DeSantis and Christine Drazan's fundraiser in Hillsboro tomorrow, the Democratic Party is launching a billboard highlighting Drazan and DeSantis' extremist support for Trump's MAGA agenda.

Despite her desperate efforts to hide her support for Donald Trump and the MAGA agenda, Drazan is choosing to align with DeSantis, a far-right extremist who:

• Passed the infamous "Don't Say Gay" bill, which discriminates against LGBTQ+ children in public schools.
• Fast-tracked the construction of the immigrant concentration camp "Alligator Alcatraz," which was closed earlier this year after reports revealed human rights violations, including holding detainees in phone-booth sized cells.
• Championed the passage of a six-week abortion ban, one of the most restrictive in the nation.
• Participated in a self-dealing scam that diverted $10 million in taxpayer funds from a Medicaid settlement to help poor children to political action committees by funneling the money through his wife's charity.
• Approved public school curriculum that downplayed the atrocities of American slavery, arguing that enslaved people learned skills that could be of "personal benefit."
• Signed into law Florida's own version of the "SAVE" Act, as well as laws restricting Vote By Mail, making it harder for Floridians to access the ballot.

Drazan's own far-right record includes:

• Opposing legislation to provide educational support to LGBTQ+ students who have been historically disadvantaged because of their sexuality or gender identity, and alsoopposing legislation that prohibited banning books based solely on whether they include perspectives of historically marginalized groups.
• Celebrating Trump's ICE raids, calling protestors who opposed them "violent mobs and domestic terrorists."
• Receiving the endorsement of Oregon Right to Life, a radical anti-abortion group that opposes abortion even in cases of rape, incest, or the health of the mother and opposes access to contraception and IVF.
• Funneling nearly $100,000 from her dark-money non-profit to a private consulting firm that she owns.
• Sponsoring a bill to completely overturn Oregon's vote-by-mail system, making in-person voting the standard.

"Christine Drazan has been desperately trying to hide her support for Donald Trump and his MAGA agenda, but at the first opportunity to raise money with an extremist like Ron DeSantis, the mask comes off and we see her true MAGA colors," said Democratic Party of Oregon Executive Chair Nathan Soltz. "By aligning herself with a Trump loyalist like DeSantis, Drazan is showing voters exactly how she'd lead Oregon: by taking orders from Trump to ban abortion, end vote-by-mail, and attack our immigrant communities. Oregonians deserve to know the truth: that Drazan is a MAGA Republican who will roll out the red carpet for Donald Trump's cruel agenda."
