Sharpton to Join Family and Community in Mourning at Cornerstone Baptist Church on Monday, April 13th
New York, NY (April 11, 2026) - Rev. Al Sharpton, Founder and President of the National Action Network (NAN), will deliver the eulogy on Monday, April 13th for a 7-month-old baby girl tragically killed by a stray bullet while in her stroller in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn on April 1, 2026. The homegoing service will be held at Cornerstone Baptist Church, located at 574 Madison Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, between Lewis and Stuyvesant Avenues.
The infant was struck by a stray bullet during a midday gang-related drive-by shooting in which suspects on a moped opened fire in a residential area. She was in her stroller at the time. Two suspects were subsequently arrested following a moped crash in the area. Her death has sent shockwaves through Brooklyn and across the city and has reignited urgent calls for an end to the gun violence that continues to claim the lives of innocent children.
Rev. Sharpton stands with the family of this precious child and with every family that has had to bury a son or daughter taken too soon by senseless gun violence. NAN calls on elected officials, law enforcement, and community leaders to redouble their commitment to the safety of our children and the communities they call home.
