CONSUMER CREDIT ACTIVITY

Nelnet Servicing, LLCd/b/a Firstmark Services d/b/a Sloan Servicing

On August 7, 2026, the Commissioner entered into a Consent Order ("Consent Order") with Nelnet Servicing, LLC d/b/a Firstmark Services d/b/a Sloan Servicing (NMLS #1508613), ("Nelnet"), Lincoln, Nebraska. As a result of information obtained during the examination of Nelnet, the Commissioner alleged that between January 1, 2022 and March 25, 2026, Nelnet engaged in activity in violation of Section 36a-556(a) of the Connecticut General Statutes by receiving payments on at least 1,114 small loans without a small loan company license. As part of the Consent Order, Nelnet paid $25,000 as a civil penalty and $800 as back licensing fees.
