Barr Secures $750,000 of Federal Funds for Bourbon County Water Project

Paris, KY-U.S. Congressman Andy Barr (R-KY-06) delivered $750,000 in federal grant funding for Millersburg Road Elevated Water Tank to the Bourbon County Fiscal Court. Barr secured the funding through the Commerce, Justice, Science; Energy and Water Development; and Interior and Environment Appropriations Act, 2026. He voted for the appropriations package earlier this month and President Trump recently signed the funding bill into law.

The Millersburg Road Elevated Water Tank project will provide critical water infrastructure improvements for Bourbon County by increasing water storage capacity, improving system pressure, and enhancing reliability for residents, businesses, and emergency services. This project will support continued growth in the region while strengthening resiliency against system disruptions, drought conditions, and fire emergencies.

"One of many wins for the Sixth District in the most recent America First government funding bill was federal dollars for the Water Tank Project here in Bourbon County," said Congressman Barr. "This new elevated water tank will strengthen water reliability, protect public health, and support continued economic growth for families, businesses, and first responders. Investing in core infrastructure like this is how we prepare our communities for the future and keep Kentucky growing."

"We are grateful to Congressman Barr for delivering the funding to make this infrastructure project a reality. This investment strengthens our water system, supports economic activity, and positions Bourbon County for continued growth," said Bourbon County Judge/Executive, Michael Williams.
