We invite artists to submit conceptual mural proposals inspired by themes of music, play, inclusion, diversity, and community connection, with content appropriate for children ages 2-5. Artists are encouraged to interpret these themes in ways that celebrate Hamilton Amphitheater Park as a welcoming and inclusive gathering space where residents of all ages and backgrounds come together to play, perform, and connect.
The selected artist will receive a total project award of $10,000. While submissions are welcome from all artists, priority consideration will be given to Novato and Marin County residents.
Applications are now open and will close at 11:59pm on August 23. Project guidelines and application are available at novato.gov/hamiltonmural. Please carefully review project guidelines and requirements before submitting application materials to [email protected].
Submissions will be reviewed by the Recreation, Cultural and Community Services (RCCS) Advisory Commission at their regular meeting on September 10, 2026. The RCCS Commission will recommend artwork to the City Council for final approval. Selected artists will be notified in late September 2026.
