GREAT FALLS, MT - Today, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Great Falls Area Chamber of Commerce hosted U.S. Representative Troy Downing (R-MT-02) for a roundtable discussion in Great Falls, Montana with local business leaders on the pro-growth business tax provisions in President Trump's Working Families Tax Cuts Act. This forward-looking, pro-growth policy is vital to maintaining America's prosperity and competitive edge and will create new opportunities for American workers and businesses to thrive.
We applaud Congressman Downing for working to ensure that the constituents of the 2nd District of Montana continue to benefit from long-term tax relief, fostering growth for workers and businesses across his district and beyond.
"The U.S. Chamber thanks Congressman Downing for his vote on the Working Families Tax Cuts Act and his commitment to pro-growth tax policies that support small businesses," said Katelyn Harrison, Manager of the Northwest Region of Government Affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. "This legislation will help businesses grow, create jobs, and invest in their communities, all while strengthening the broader economy. We appreciate the opportunity to partner with the Great Falls Area Chamber of Commerce to engage in meaningful conversations that support business success, and we thank Congressman Downing for his leadership on behalf of Montana's 2nd District."
"Montana's small businesses create jobs and strengthen communities across our state," said Congressman Downing. "I appreciate the opportunity to hear directly from business owners in Great Falls about the challenges they face and the tax policies that will help them invest, grow, and create more opportunities. These conversations help ensure Washington is work for Main Street instead of getting in its way."
"We sincerely thank Congressman Troy Downing and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for bringing this important Small Business Tax Roundtable to Great Falls," said Ed Brown, President and CEO of the Great Falls Area Chamber of Commerce. "Conversations like this provide our local businesses with valuable information, help them better understand federal tax policies, and give them a direct opportunity to share the challenges and opportunities they are experiencing. Educating and advocating for our business community is critical to building a stronger local economy."
The U.S. Chamber's tax roundtables are a part of its Growing America's Future campaign, an education and advocacy blitz in support of maintaining a pro-growth tax code to foster a robust U.S. economy that benefits all Americans. To date, the Chamber has hosted over 95 tax roundtables, and these events will continue over the coming months in communities across the country.
