CFM Expands, Strengthens Open MRO Ecosystem

• Three new Premier MRO providers added in past 18 months
• CFM increasing internal shop and test cell capacity

FARNBOROUGH, England - July 18, 2026 - CFM International continues to invest in its open maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) ecosystem, building both capability and capacity to meet the forecasted ramp in LEAP engine shop visits, including five-year commitments of more than $1 billion USD by GE Aerospace and more than €1 billion EUR by Safran Aircraft Engines.

"CFM is investing heavily to ensure we have the ample capability in place to support LEAP engine aftermarket requirements," said Gaël Méheust, president and CEO of CFM International. "In 2025 we inaugurated new facilities in Belgium, India, Mexico, and Poland. In 2026 we're bringing additional capacity online, including recent expansions in Belgium and Mexico."

LEAP global MRO capacity also continues to grow through licensed shops. In the past 18 months, CFM announced three new Premier MRO shops: MTU Maintenance Fort Worth, Texas, which opened July 8, 2026; Iberia Maintenance in Madrid, Spain; and SSAMC in Chengdu, China. These companies join some of the industry's most reputable names in engine maintenance: Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance, Delta TechOps, Lufthansa Technik, ST Engineering, and StandardAero.

Méheust continued: "We understand the need to ensure the fastest possible shop visits with the lowest possible cost. To that end, we are accelerating the development of high-yield repairs and working with suppliers to improve delivery performance and expand spare parts inventory. We are also maturing our engine and shop manuals to minimize the need for part repair or replacement where we can."

With more than 10,000 engines delivered to date, CFM LEAP engines have experienced the fastest ramp in commercial aviation history. CFM continues to upgrade the LEAP fleet with a high-pressure turbine (HPT) durability kit to extend time on wing and a reverse bleed system (RBS) to lower airline maintenance burden. The company is focused on delivering high engine availability through exceptional MRO performance and competitive cost of ownership, with the benefits of aftermarket competition through its open MRO ecosystem.
