A box of cereal. A jar of peanut butter. A familiar pantry staple can mean comfort, possibility and a little bit of everyday joy. This summer, the Albertsons Companies Foundation is turning those everyday items into something even more meaningful through the Dream Pantry Auction, a charitable fundraiser supporting childhood hunger relief nationwide.
The auction is part of Nourish the American Dream, a nationwide campaign from Albertsons Companies and the Foundation that brings together more than 250 nonprofit partners, national brands and supporters with a shared goal: helping more children get the food they need to learn, grow and thrive.
How the Dream Pantry Auction Works
Now through July 7, consumers can bid on signed pantry staples transformed into one-of-a-kind collectibles. Hosted by personality and cultural icon Mario Lopez, the auction features items signed by celebrities and notable figures including Stephen Curry, Robert Downey Jr., Livvy Dunne, Tony Hawk and Christina Milian. Proceeds will support childhood hunger relief across the country.
Every Bid Can Go Further
To help accelerate the impact, the Foundation will match every dollar donated July 1-7, up to $2.5 million, through its Nourishing Neighbors initiative. That means participation during the giving window can help extend support to more children and families facing hunger.
"A signed pantry item like a box of cereal or peanut butter may sound unexpected, but that's the point. It's a powerful and fun way to support a great cause while owning a unique collectible and conversation piece. Every bid helps to make sure that more children have access to food this summer, and I can't wait to see how many people participate," said Lopez.
