TWU online programs among nation’s best

Jan. 27, 2026 - DENTON - U.S. News & World Report has recognized graduate online programs in education and nursing and bachelor's online programs in business at Texas Woman's University as being among the nation's best.

The recognition was announced this week in the publication's 2026 "Best Online Programs" edition, which offers rankings in a variety of categories.

U.S. News considers several factors in its rankings, and its methodologies incorporate metrics that measure how well programs are designed for distance learners and their effectiveness at awarding affordable degrees in a reasonable time frame. Specific factors include measures of services offered remotely, available technologies and course delivery best practices.

The online graduate programs in education at Texas Woman's were ranked in the top fifth of all university online graduate education programs in the country ― and sixth out of 25 ranked Texas institutions.

TWU's online master's program in nursing was ranked among the top half of similar programs in the country. And the online bachelor's programs in business were ranked in the top half among the nation's undergraduate business programs.

Also, TWU's Merrilee Alexander Kick College of Business and Entrepreneurship made the publication's list of the nation's best online MBA programs and was in the top half of all online MBA programs in Texas. Overall, TWU's online bachelor's programs were recognized among the country's best.

For its 2026 edition, the publication assessed nearly 1,850 online bachelor's and master's degree programs at regionally accredited institutions.
