Chinese Embassy in Fiji Visits Villages on International Women's Day

On March 8th, the diplomats from the Chinese Embassy in Fiji, led by Chargé d'Affaires a.i. Wang Yuan, visited Fijian local villages to celebrate International Women's Day. Roko Tui Namosi Ratu Paula Delaivuna and representatives of Soqosoqo Vakamarama Women Group and villages attended the event. Wang, on behalf of the Embassy, then handed over the donated supplies, including sewing machines, kitchen utensils and rice to local women's organizations and villages.

Wang Yuan extended festive greetings to all the female friends, promoting China's progress on women's development. Wang emphasized that China will always support the cause of women in Fiji and looks forward to strengthening collaboration to promote Fiji's economic and social progress as well as poverty reduction efforts.

The representatives said that Fiji values the deep-rooted friendship with China, and is eager to learn from China's valuable experience in gender equality, women's empowerment, and rural development, and looks forward to starting more cooperation with China.

The women villagers expressed their gratitude to the Embassy and pledged to make full use of the utensils to enhance their livelihoods.
