Chairman of the Board of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development Meets the Syrian Minister of Finance on the Sidelines of the World Governments Summit

His Excellency Dr. Obaid Saif Hamad Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Board of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID), met with His Excellency H.E. Mr. Mohammed Yusr Barniyeh, Minister of Finance of the Syrian Arab Republic, on Tuesday, 3 February 2026, on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit held in Dubai.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of agricultural investment and food security, and exchanged views on available opportunities to support sustainable agricultural development, in a manner that contributes to strengthening food security and achieving economic stability.

Both parties emphasized the importance of expanding horizons of joint Arab cooperation and activating strategic partnerships that would support the agricultural sector and enable it to address current challenges, particularly in light of rapidly evolving economic and climatic changes.

The meeting comes as part of AAAID's ongoing efforts to strengthen its relations with Arab member states and to reinforce its role in supporting development and investment initiatives that serve food security priorities across the Arab world.
