Statement from Senator Warren on the Fed's New Stress Test Proposal

Washington, DC - Today, U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Ranking Member of Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, released the following statement on the Federal Reserve's new stress test proposal:

"Today, the Fed gave its latest gift to Wall Street: the answer key to the post-crisis stress tests. The Fed sharing its methodologies with Wall Street banks means the banks will know exactly how to game the tests so they're guaranteed to pass with flying colors, and we won't know if they can withstand economic turmoil until it's too late. As the Fed continues on this toxic deregulatory path, it risks future bank failures, taxpayer bailouts, and economic pain for the American public."
