Rachel Zajac-Fay to Present at A&WMA Annual Waste Conference

Rachel Zajac-Fay will speak on microplastics at the Air and Waste Management Association (A&WMA) Lake Michigan States Section 2026 Annual Conference on Monday, May 4, at 9:15 a.m. CT in Chicago, Illinois.

Her co-presenters are Arie Feltman-Frank of Jenner and Block LLP, Andrea Densham of Alliance for the Great Lakes, and Nathan Eklund of SGS North America Inc. The session will be moderated by Audrey Avila of Thompson Hine LLP.

Chriso Petropoulou, PhD, PE, BCEE, and Mark Willobee, CPSESC, will also be in attendance.

Rachel is a Senior Scientist based in Florida with more than 15 years of experience focused on ecotoxicology, ecological risk assessment, contaminated site assessments, and emerging contaminants. She specializes in emerging contaminants, including per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and microplastics, and is a practice leader for Geosyntec's Microplastics group.

The conference, hosted by the Lake Michigan States Section of the Air and Waste Management Association, brings together environmental professionals, regulators, and industry leaders to focus on emerging issues and forward-thinking solutions in waste and environmental management, including microplastics, PFAS, beneficial reuse, biosolids management, and evolving state regulations.
