American Jewish Committee (AJC), the global advocacy organization for the Jewish people, has named Lindsey Barton Mintz as Director of its West Coast Florida regional office.
Based in Sarasota, Mintz will lead AJC's work across Florida's west coast, from Tampa Bay to Naples.
"AJC has long been an essential Jewish voice and trusted partner to civic, interfaith, and government leaders along Florida's west coast," Mintz said. "With antisemitism and antizionism on the rise, AJC's advocacy has never been more urgent. I am honored to assume this role at such a pivotal moment in the community I call home."
Mintz brings to the role more than 25 years of Jewish communal leadership and extensive experience in advocacy, education, coalition-building, intergroup relations, and development.
Mintz joined AJC in 2024 as Director of Community Education Initiatives in the Center for Education Advocacy, where she led AJC's national Empowered Parents Program, which equips parents raising Jewish children to advocate effectively in K-12 schools.
"Lindsey will help us write a compelling new chapter of advocacy in our region," said AJC West Coast Florida President Wendy Feinstein. "The community will quickly see how the energy and expertise she brings to the role will make our engagement with civic leaders, educators
Before joining AJC, Mintz served as Director of Community Engagement for the Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee. Earlier, she spent 15 years in leadership roles with the Indianapolis Jewish Community Relations Council, including 10 years as Executive Director and five years as Director of Government Affairs.
Mintz earned a B.A. in Jewish Studies and History and an M.A. in Public History from Indiana University.
AJC West Coast Florida connects our community with American Jewish Committee's global advocacy work to enhance the well-being of the Jewish people and Israel. Through trusted relationships with diplomats, elected officials, and civic and interfaith leaders across the region, the office advances AJC's global priorities, including combating antisemitism and strengthening Israel's place in the world.
