Washington (May 21, 2026) - Senators Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) and Steve Daines (R-Mont.) today announced that their resolution to designate May as National Brain Tumor Awareness Month passed the U.S. Senate last night with unanimous consent.
"I am proud to join Senator Daines to once again designate May as National Brain Tumor Awareness Month. Too many families across the country grieve the loss of loved ones who suffered from a brain tumor. We must do everything we can to increase funding for brain tumor research and raise public awareness to help combat this deadly disease," said Senator Markey.
"I'm pleased to work with Senator Markey for the ninth year in a row to designate May as National Brain Tumor Awareness Month. This issue touches many Montanans and their families, and we must continue to raise awareness and advance brain tumor research and treatment," said Senator Daines.
