On the occasion of Montenegrin Diplomacy Day, Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović highlighted the importance of the diplomatic service in preserving Montenegro's international reputation, protecting state interests, and strengthening its position on the global stage.
He recalled that the foundation of organized diplomatic activity and international representation of Montenegro was laid with the establishment of the Principality's Office for Foreign Affairs in Cetinje in 1874.
We extend special gratitude to all diplomats and officials of Montenegro's diplomatic and consular network, who, through their professionalism, responsibility, and dedication, consistently represent the country and its interests on the international stage, said Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović.
He emphasized that in the final phase of the European integration process, the role of the diplomatic service remains particularly important for promoting reform results, strengthening the country's credibility, and achieving Montenegro's strategic foreign policy goal.
