City of Bellflower Celebrates the Ribbon Cutting for The Bark Spot at Caruthers Park

The City of Bellflower invites the community and their four-legged companions to celebrate the ribbon-cutting ofa new dog park, The Bark Spot, onFriday, May 1, at 3:30 p.m.atCaruthers Park, 10500 Flora Vista St.

The Bark Spot will serve as a safe and inclusive space that promotes responsible pet ownership, connection and active recreation. The new park expands access to off-leash recreation and offers another convenient option for residents to enjoy with their dogs close to home.

The park is the City's second off-leash dog park and includes separate areas for small and large dogs, providing space for both active play and more casual use.

In recognition of its 100th Anniversary, the Bellflower Rotary Club partnered with the City of Bellflower to create a lasting legacy. Rotary's contribution supports The Bark Spot and provides the initial funding to establish the future Bellflower Parks and Recreation Foundation.

"The Bark Spot reflects our commitment to enhancing quality of life in Bellflower by creating spaces where residents and their pets can connect, play and enjoy the outdoors," said Mayor Sonny R. Santa Ines. "We are grateful to the Bellflower Rotary Club for their partnership and generosity in supporting this project and for their continued investment in our community. We invite residents to come join us and celebrate this milestone."

Residents are encouraged to bring their dogs and be among the first to explore this exciting addition to Caruthers Park.

The construction of The Bark Spot aligns with the City Council's 2025-2027 Strategic Plan, which reflects community priorities such as improving parks, enhancing amenities and creating more welcoming public spaces. The plan was shaped by input from residents, business owners and community members.
