The first consultations on consular issues between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Belarus were held in Minsk.
The Uzbek delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Olimjon Abdullaev, while the Belarusian delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Yevgeny Shestakov.
Representatives of the Migration Agency of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Belarus, and the Department of Citizenship and Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus also participated in the consultations.
The parties discussed current issues of cooperation in the consular sphere, the regulation of labour migration processes, the protection of the rights and interests of citizens of the two countries, as well as prospects for further improvement of the bilateral legal framework.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on expanding practical cooperation in the field of labour migration, creating favourable conditions for citizens, and joint measures aimed at ensuring effective management of migration processes.
