Chairman Smith Applauds Trump Administration’s Quick Action to Advance Rural Health Transformation Program

Washington, D.C. - Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith (MO-08) issued the following statement after the Trump Administration's Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services released guidance on the $50 billion Rural Health Transformation Program created as part of President Trump's Working Families Tax Cuts:

"For too long, rural America has struggled with access to quality health care. Thanks to the leadership of President Trump and Republicans in Congress, we are delivering the largest investment in the health of rural communities in a generation. This historic $50 billion program will fuel innovative and imaginative changes in rural health care delivery to confront the longstanding challenges that face smalltown Americans by expanding access to doctors and hospitals, strengthening the health care workforce, and ensuring rural families can count on sustainable care close to home. I commend Secretary Kennedy and Dr. Oz for their commitment to ensuring these critical resources are approved timely and benefit the truly rural towns and communities that need it most."
