Central Pacific Bank Foundation President Receives Kaibigan Award

LAHAINA, HI (September 12, 2026) - Catherine Ngo, President of Central Pacific Bank Foundation, has been honored with the inaugural Kaibigan (Friend) Award by Kaibigan Ng Lahaina (KNL).

The Kaibigan Award recognizes the contributions of an individual whose support of KNL has made a significant impact to its mission to facilitate, resource, and innovate recovery pathways that foster long-term resiliency for the Filipino and immigrant communities in Lahaina who were disproportionately impacted by the 2023 Lahaina wildfires.

"Catherine Ngo has been an extraordinary champion of our mission, mobilizing critical support and resources to uplift our programs and initiatives," said Eric Arquero, Executive Director of KNL. "She continues to stand alongside KNL and our community through her steadfast mentorship and collaboration."

KNL presented three awards at its Kaibigan Gala Fundraiser & Awards held at The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Kaanapali. The Gala was attended by dedicated community members, partners, and advocates who share KNL's commitment to achieving recovery for the communities it serves.

KNL presented the following awards to recognize exceptional individuals and organizations whose contributions have shaped the shared vision it holds for Lahaina:

• Kaibigan Award (Friend): Presented to Catherine Ngo for her significant impact and support to Kaibigan Ng Lahaina.

• Bayani Award (Hometown Hero): Presented to Blake Ramelb for his meaningful role in shaping community growth.

• Kapwa Award (Shared Identity): Presented to the Lahaina Community Land Trust for its dedication to the community's collective strength.

"I am humbled to be recognized by Kaibigan Ng Lahaina and proud to be a friend to an organization that continues to build support and growth resources for a key part of the Lahaina community," said Catherine Ngo, President of Central Pacific Bank Foundation and recipient of the Kaibigan Award.

The Gala raised critical funds to sustain and expand KNL's culturally grounded programs, such as its Recovery and Resource Center, that has helped hundreds of Lahaina families have the socioeconomic mobility and mental health support they need to thrive.
