Netflix to Live-Stream STARTO ENTERTAINMENT’s New Year’s Eve Countdown Concert Worldwide for the First Time

Netflix has announced that it will exclusively live-stream COUNTDOWN CONCERT 2026-2027 STARTO to WORLD , a year-end countdown concert featuring STARTO ENTERTAINMENT artists, globally on December 31 JST.

This concert began in 1996 as a charity event supporting recovery efforts following the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, and has since become an annual tradition for artists and fans to close out and welcome the new year together. In 2026, it marks its 30th anniversary - and through Netflix's live stream, people anywhere in the world will be able to enjoy the performances and count down to the new year in real time from Japan. It's the first time the concert will stream live simultaneously worldwide, and a double first for Netflix: its first Japan-originated music live event, and its first-ever worldwide simultaneous live stream of a year-end countdown concert.

Netflix and STARTO ENTERTAINMENT have collaborated before, including on 2024's WE ARE! Let's get the party STARTO!! , a large-scale live event featuring the agency's artists, and last year's COUNTDOWN CONCERT 2025-2026 STARTO to MOVE , which brought together 12 acts and 73 artists, along with its behind-the-scenes companion, Behind the STARTO to MOVE . This live stream draws on the expertise of top-tier live video production teams from and outside Japan, aiming to capture not only the scale of the entire stage but also each artist's individuality and energy.

Together, the two companies join forces to bring the STARTO artists' performances and the excitement from the venue in real time and with Netflix's signature production quality, making this year's countdown concert the best experience yet for fans around the world.

Enjoy the Countdown Concert Through Three Stories: Before, During and Behind the Scenes

Beyond the concert on December 31, Netflix and STARTO ENTERTAINMENT will produce and exclusively stream a pre-show program leading up to the concert and a behind-the-scenes program following it. From the artist lineup announcement to the main show and what happens behind it, viewers get several different angles of the concert - including glimpses of the artists that won't appear in the main broadcast.
