The CNP Assurances group, a major player in personal and property insurance in France, Europe and Brazil, has been a client of CACEIS since its creation in 2005. To mark our 20th anniversary, we asked Olivier Guigné - Director of Investments and Savings Europe - and Pascal Beasse- Group's Chief Investment Officer at CNP Assurances for their perspective.

CACEIS is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. You have been a client since the beginning. How do you view its development over the years?

Olivier Guigné: CACEIS has truly managed to evolve with the times. What has defined our relationship is the consistency of its client service. We have seen a notable transformation in its offering, but always with the same commitment to meeting client needs. In a sector as demanding as flow management, with numerous daily interactions, CACEIS has maintained a remarkable quality of client relations by providing solutions that are both responsive and innovative.

The changes have been accompanied by new, sometimes unexpected but always relevant, solutions. The creation of the PERES business line, for example, or the collateral offering, are excellent examples. These innovative services have become a major asset for us. This focus on new markets like the unlisted sector, with new proposals, shows an ability to anticipate industry developments, which is very much appreciated.

Pascal Beasse: I completely agree. You can feel a real commitment from the teams. Initially, everything was more traditional, but over time we have seen the emergence of much more sophisticated digital tools and an even more responsive client service. The teams have also gained greater expertise, which is essential in such a complex and demanding environment.

Team management at CACEIS is also a key factor. In professions where continuity and trust are paramount, managing the turnover rate within the teams we work with has been a quality factor. Trust is built over time, and this is essential for resolving operational incidents, which, fortunately, are rare today. I should add that the system offered by CACEIS has become significantly more efficient since the tender we launched in 2022, with a notable reduction in incidents.

Olivier Guigné: It's true that successive tenders and the way regulatory changes have been incorporated into our contracts also illustrate CACEIS's constant ability to adapt. The introduction of KPIs into our contractual relationship was a milestone. These performance indicators, which were once rare, have become a common language that allows us to better formalise our respective expectations and needs. However, it is important to emphasise that KPIs, although essential for structuring the relationship, are no substitute for the human aspect. It is by combining these elements with a partnership-based approach that CACEIS has been able to evolve while maintaining the quality of the relationship.

What memorable moments or projects have you experienced alongside CACEIS over the past 20 years?

Olivier Guigné: There have been several key moments, notably the tenders we conducted during this period, which led to increased demands on our part - something that was very engaging for CACEIS. CACEIS also provided us with crucial support when La Banque Postale Assurances and later La Mutuelle Générale joined us; major milestones in the growth of CNP Assurances. CACEIS was a key partner in these projects, guiding us through each stage to ensure everything went smoothly, even during very intense periods. It was a great success, and we are very grateful. It is reassuring to know we can count on you and that you know how to support us, so we can have other stories to share together.

Pascal Beasse: For me, it's the support provided during the many regulatory changes and the expansion of our international activities. We were able to benefit from CACEIS's expertise in navigating complex regulations and logistical challenges.

The CNP Assurances Group has evolved significantly in recent years and CACEIS has always been able to respond quickly and effectively, enabling us to continue our international growth without a hitch.

CACEIS has expanded significantly internationally, which is a major asset for us, even though we work mainly in France. Its ability to support CNP Assurances in other jurisdictions is an undeniable plus-point. This could become a decisive factor for the future if our service needs extend to new markets. CACEIS's international development opens up new opportunities and guarantees consistent service in diverse environments.

What do you expect from CACEIS over the next 20 years?

Olivier Guigné: To summarise our expectations for the next 20 years, it would be to continue working within this partnership framework, integrating new technologies such as AI and blockchain. We expect CACEIS to anticipate market needs and adapt with responsiveness and innovation. What AI solutions can improve our relationship and help us anticipate our operational risks in all the necessary controls? This anticipation will be fundamental in a sector where regulatory change is constant and where competition, particularly in technology, is increasingly fierce.

I am convinced that CACEIS will continue to anticipate market needs and provide us with increasingly tailored solutions.

Pascal Beasse: CACEIS must remain a trusted partner that, beyond contracts and KPIs, truly supports our growth by anticipating and responding quickly to market challenges, while seamlessly integrating these technological developments. All this, of course, with a global vision that includes internationalisation, in order to support us in our own development.

The integration of AI and blockchain into the securities processing chain will have a major impact on the relationship between our two institutions.
