STATEMENT: Sen. Schiff Statement on Latest Trump Administration Payment to Kill California Wind Energy Project

Morro Bay, California - Today, U.S. Senator Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) issued the following statement on the Trump administration's latest payment to wind energy companies to cancel wind leases off the coast of California.

"As Americans pay more and more for energy, the Trump administration is once again paying millions in taxpayer dollars to kill California energy projects.

"Expect another hike in your utility bills, courtesy of Donald Trump. And another win for the oil industry."

Over the past year, the Trump administration has paid more than $2 billion in taxpayer funds to cancel planned wind energy projects off California's coast. Today's payment reclaims a lease sold off the coast of Morro Bay.
