Taft Columbus Partner Lauren Kemp has been appointed to the Board of Trustees and named chair of the Human Resources Committee at Columbus Humane. Columbus Humane is a non-profit organization that provides services for animals in the community, including rescuing and sheltering, facilitating adoptions, and fostering, offering educational programs, and serving as a legal advocate for animal rights. As a member of the Board of Trustees and chair of the Human Resources Committee, Kemp will support and strengthen the organization's efforts to serve animals and the greater Columbus community.

Kemp is a Partner in the Employment and Labor Relations practice group, with a focus on employment counseling and litigation, as well as workers' compensation. She has significant experience with ADA and Title VII compliance and all phases of litigation. As part of her workers' compensation practice, Kemp represents self-insured and state-funded employers during all stages of their matters, including claims investigation and management, administrative hearings, litigation, appeals on mandamus before the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Ohio, and settlement. Prior to joining Taft, Lauren was an Assistant Attorney General with the Ohio Attorney General's office, Workers' Compensation Section where she provided legal counsel to the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation, the Industrial Commission of Ohio and handled all aspects of litigation.
