On 14 May 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with H.E. Dr. Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on the sidelines of the 2026 BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting in New Delhi.
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed appreciation to the Iranian side for its support in facilitating the safe transit of three Thai commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz and requested continued support in ensuring the safe passage of the remaining vessels. In this connection, Thailand stands ready to dispatch humanitarian assistance to Iran through the Red Cross in the near future.
Both sides also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East and agreed on the importance of resolving the conflict through dialogue and diplomatic means in order to achieve sustainable peace.
