Update your work agreement to reflect the new onsite requirement

Following the DM message on May 25, Department of National Defence (DND) public service employees are required to update their work agreements to reflect the new four-day-per-week on-site work requirement.

Existing accommodations (Duty to Accommodate) and valid exceptions to the Direction on prescribed presence in the workplace are not impacted by the requirement stated above.

Should your L1 organization have workspace constraints that prevent a shift to four-day-per-week on-site on July 6, you will be informed directly by your management. Employees in this situation should update their arrangement to reflect the requirements determined by their L1.

How to submit a new work agreement

Employees must submit new work agreements in the myWorkArrangements (MWA) application in the Treasury Board Applicaiton Portal (TAP).

When is a new agreement required

Work agreements can be valid for up to one year from the date of signature. New agreements must be submitted in the following situations:

  • New employees at DND
  • Before the agreement expires
  • Change of position or manager
  • Change in location
  • Change in the number of required days on-site
  • Change in department
  • If the employee is on long-term leave (the manager must cancel or let it expire)
