WASHINGTON - Today, U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) announced she is presenting Dr. Anthony Fauci with another honorary prize for his wall of accolades, her uncoveted Squeal Award for undermining science and the law during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tomorrow, Ernst will also press Fauci in person for answers about his role covering up the origins of the pandemic, funding risky research, and destroying evidence when he testifies before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. The hearing begins at 8:30 am EST and can be watched online.
Ernst was among the first to question Fauci's narrative that COVID-19 did not have a lab origin and called for investigations into his funding for risky research involving coronaviruses. She also led the successful efforts to defund both EcoHealth Alliance and the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
"The traditional scientific method involves asking a question, forming a hypothesis, then conducting experiments to find an answer to your question. That is how you follow the science, folks," said Ernst. "Fauci's method is to deceive the public, discredit those who ask questions, destroy evidence, hide the truth, become a celebrity, pose for magazine photographers, and accept a pardon to avoid accountability. Unlike the pardon he received from President Biden's autopen that absolves him from any crimes he may have committed, this Squeal Award recognizes Dr. Fauci for his true legacy of funding dangerous research with taxpayer dollars and misleading the public about the pandemic."
Dr. Fauci wrote in his dairy, "as soon as people recognized me there was a wave of applause and squealing and screaming and clapping and thanking me with multiple people coming and asking for selfies." He added, "it was a little bit embarrassing, but it was just a manifestation of how people need a symbol of integrity and truth."
"Fauci was absolutely correct that people needed the truth during the pandemic, but they didn't get it from him," said Ernst. "That's why the squeals he will hear today are going to be his own because I am giving my July 2026 Squeal Award to Dr. Anthony Fauci."
. Fauci can now hang a Squeal Award on his wall of accolades.
