A suspect has been arrested for the December 31, 2023, shooting death of Skyler Stuckey.
On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, Albany Police arrested Jimmi L. Lawing, 18, of Albany, during a traffic stop. On Thursday, September 18, 2025, Lawing was extradited to Multnomah County and lodged in the Multnomah County Detention Center on the following charge: Manslaughter in the First Degree.

The victim in the December 31st East Columbia Neighborhood shooting is identified as Skyler Stuckey, 21, of Albany, Oregon. His family has been notified of his death and provided the attached photograph for public release. They are asking for privacy at this time.The medical examiner determine he died of homicide by gunshot wounds.The other shooting victim, an 18-year-old male, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He has been treated and released from the hospital and is recovering.The investigation into the shooting is continuing. No arrests have been made, but the initial investigation indicates there is no ongoing threat to the public. One Deceased Following ShootingOn Sunday, December 31, 2023, at 8:09 p.m., officers from the North Precinct responded to a shooting call in the 1100 block of Northeast Faloma Road. When officers arrived, they found two men who had been shot. Both victims were transported to an area hospital, where one of them died.The Portland Police Homicide detectives have responded to the scene to investigate.
