Oakland University hosts fourth annual telehealth symposium

The Fourth Annual Oakland University Telehealth Symposium, themed "Virtual Healthcare: Linking Scholarship to Practice," will take place this Friday, September 26, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Oakland Center, on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.

The symposium will feature addresses from the University President, Dr. Ora Hirsch Pescovitz, and Provost, Dr. Amy Thompson, who will share their insights on the integration of telehealth into academic and clinical practice.

Hosted by the Oakland University Telehealth and Digital Innovations Council, the symposium will explore the latest innovations and current trends in telehealth, education, clinical practice, and research. It aims to foster cross-disciplinary dialogue and collaboration among healthcare providers, educators, researchers, and students.

Keynote Speaker: Stephanie Bauer, Ph.D., Director, Center for Psychotherapy Research, Universität Heidelberg, Germany

Renowned international expert in digital mental health, Dr. Stephanie Bauer from Universität Heidelberg, Germany, will deliver the keynote address, Improving Access to Care via Digital Mental Health Interventions. Dr. Bauer brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of virtual mental health solutions.

Telehealth Panel Discussion

Following the keynote, a dynamic panel discussion will take place featuring Dr. Bauer and a diverse group of experts from education, clinical practice, and research. The panel will examine the impact of virtual care and digital innovations on providers, patients, and health systems.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in networking and collaborative conversations to deepen partnerships across disciplines and sectors.
