CNA Earn to Learn Program Celebrates Graduates

On Tuesday, August 4, graduates from MaineGeneral's Long Term Care CNA Earn to Learn programs gathered to celebrate their achievements with a pinning ceremony.

Marina Piehl, one of the graduates of our spring program, spoke to the importance of CNAs beyond their typical duties. "Being a CNA is more than taking vital signs and completing activities of daily living," said Piehl. "It's being a helping hand for someone who needs support. Today is to celebrate the moments we've shared, smiles we've exchanged, the comfort we've offered and differences we've made."

Scott Turgeon, Long Term Care operations support coordinator and a previous Earn to Learn graduate, addressed the significance that CNAs have in others' lives. "Caring for others is one of the most meaningful things that we can do. Graduates, you are joining a profession built on compassion and service. As CNAs you'll help people during some of the most important moments of their lives. You'll provide comfort, preserve dignity and often become a trusted part of someone's day."
