Earlier this year, President Trump issued an executive order (EO) titled Advancing Artificial Intelligence Education for America's Youth. As part of the EO, the White House introduced Our Pledge to America's Youth - Investing in AI Education. SIIA, an inaugural co-signer of the Pledge, has committed to convene members and other stakeholders to develop best practices on transparency disclosures for AI tools used in the classroom. Communicating effectively and transparently about AI in education tools is a pillar of the Education Technology Industry's Principles for the Future of AI in Education launched in 2023.

In addition to our commitment, SIIA member companies released their own public commitments. The White House highlighted these organizations and their pledges:

  • Google
    • Free AI for high schools: Google is providing all American high schools with free access to Gemini for Education, including Gemini 2.5 Pro and learning tools like Guided Learning and Notebook LM.
  • Pearson
    • Teacher AI certification: Pearson will provide up to 250,000 free vouchers for U.S. high school teachers to earn Generative AI Foundations certification, including learning resources and practice test solutions.
  • Amazon
    • Large-scale AI training: Amazon will support AI skills training for 4 million U.S. learners, enable AI curricula for 10,000 U.S. educators, and provide up to $30 million in cloud and AI technology credits for eligible educational organizations.
  • Apple
    • University AI partnerships: Apple is collaborating with higher education institutions, including community colleges, to develop human-centered AI coursework.
  • Meta
    • AI tools for military communities: Meta will develop AI-powered educational tools specifically designed for K-12 challenges and deploy them across school districts serving military communities nationwide to support educators and enhance student learning.
  • Cengage
    • Enhanced AI curriculum and tutoring: Cengage is launching AI-aligned content, adaptive learning, and assessment tools across 100+ courses in Economics, STEM, and Business, plus multi-modal AI tutoring tools to improve student outcomes.
  • McGraw Hill
    • AI curriculum tools and teacher community: McGraw Hill will provide pedagogically-aligned AI tools like automated essay evaluation and instructional planning support to reduce teacher workload, plus facilitate a community focused on ethical AI classroom practices.
  • Houghton Mifflin Harcourt
    • Embedded AI curriculum supports: HMH announced new AI tools, including lesson plan generators, text translators, and vocabulary scaffolding, all integrated with their standards-aligned curriculum and assessments.

We are proud of member companies leading on the Pledge to America's Youth and we look forward to seeing the commitments come into fruition in the coming years.
