The Charles B. Wang Center's Skylight Gallery will be transformed into a kaleidoscope of color and light this fall. On view September 26 through December 31, "Through the Light: Contemporary Jogakbo by Wonju Seo" is a masterful reinterpretation of traditional Korean wrapping cloths, turning the space into a meditative sanctuary where light passes through layers of translucent textile. A workshop on the art of jogakbo will be held on Saturday, September 27.
In the Wang Center Theatre, don't miss the shadow puppet show inspired by Wonju Seo's exhibition on Sunday, November 9, or "Magic Q's Veil of Secrets," featuring a gifted Chinese illusionist, on Saturday, November 22. In addition, four films will be shown in the theatre as well throughout the fall.
Beyond the visual, take advantage of workshops in flower arrangement, bonsai and other nature-inspired crafts this fall.
"Whether through textiles, plants, magic or shadows, I hope you'll continue to find inspiration, connection and warmth at the Wang Center as the year winds down and the days grow colder," said Jinyoung Jin, director of Asian art and culture at the Wang Center.
