(Benson, Ariz., June 29, 2026) - Today, U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Arizonia State Director Lori Urban held a roundtable event in Benson to celebrate National Homeownership Month. The event highlighted Rural Development's commitment to expanding access to affordable housing in rural communities and helping more Arizona families and individuals achieve the dream of homeownership.

"Under the leadership of President Trump and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, Rural Development has helped 55,000 families and individuals buy, repair, or build modest homes in rural America," said Urban. "Rural Development is working closely with lenders, builders, and community partners to streamline processes and reduce regulatory burdens to make our programs more accessible to borrowers."

State Director Urban was joined by Congressman Ciscomani's Community Liaison Fiona de Young and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Arizona Field Office Director William Rhodes.

Homeownership remains one of the most effective ways for families to build wealth and strengthen their financial future. Throughout the month, USDA is showcasing programs that make it easier for individuals and families to buy, build, or repair homes in rural areas.
