Convenience Store Employee Shot, Injured During Robbery, Police Investigating

Portland Police Detectives are investigating a robbery in the Eliot Neighborhood where a convenience store employee was shot and seriously injured.

On Friday, July 17, 2026 at 4:46 a.m., Portland Police officers assigned to North Precinct responded to a report of a robbery at a convenience store attached to a gas station in the 400 block of Northeast Broadway. When they arrived, they found an adult male victim with a gunshot wounds. The man is an employee of the store. He was provided trauma first aid at the scene by Portland Fire & Rescue and AMR paramedics, then transported to the hospital by ambulance. Following medical treatment, his injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

The suspect or suspects left the scene before police arrived and no immediate arrests were made.

Detectives with the Portland Police Major Crime Unit were called in to the scene to investigate the robbery.
