Waterfall Arts Presents: Homegrown: 2026 Denizen Exhibition
January 16 - February 27, 2026 | Opening Reception: Saturday, January 17, 1:00PM to 3:00PM
BELFAST, ME - Waterfall Arts welcomes the new year with Homegrown, its 2026 Denizen Exhibition, opening January 16 in the Clifford Gallery. The exhibition celebrates the people who make Waterfall Arts feel like home-a place rooted in shared creativity, care, and belonging.
For many, home is where we feel most comfortable, loved, and connected. For others, it is wherever art is made-where meaning is discovered, questions are asked, and inner lives take form. Homegrown honors both truths, recognizing that belonging can be cultivated and that creativity often takes root in places where we feel safe enough to grow.
The exhibition highlights work by Waterfall Denizens, including staff, volunteers, teaching artists, studio holders, artists in residence, curators, and board members. Created in studios, kitchens, barns, and in the quiet hours between daily responsibilities, the works on view reflect the many ways art is woven into the fabric of this creative community. Some artists create full-time, others in brief windows of light, but all are connected through the act of making.
Homegrown invites the public to begin 2026 by honoring the creative roots that sustain Waterfall Arts and the people who help it thrive.
The opening reception will take place on Saturday, January 17, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Waterfall Arts and is free and open to all. The exhibition remains on view through February 27, 2026.
