BMK Foundation to Host 15th Annual Scholarship Fundraiser Honoring Fallen Soldier

July 21, 2026

The BMK Foundation, Inc. will host the 15th annual Brandon M. King Scholarship Fundraiser on Saturday, July 25, from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Student Union Ballrooms on Tallahassee State College's (TSC) campus.

The event celebrates the life and legacy of Private First Class (PFC) Brandon M. King, a former TSC student who left college to answer the call to serve in the U.S. Army. In 2010, he was killed in the line of duty while serving in Afghanistan. He planned to return home to continue his education and pursue a degree in Game Design.

The namesake scholarship carries forward King's commitment to service, education, and community. Each year, the scholarship helps deserving TSC students pursue their educational goals, ensuring his legacy continues to inspire future generations.

"The Brandon M. King Scholarship is about more than honoring Brandon's memory. It's about creating opportunities for future generations," said Freda King, Brandon's mother and the scholarship's founder. "Through this scholarship, we're transforming heartbreak into hope."

This year's fundraiser will bring together family, friends, community members, and past scholarship recipients to honor King's legacy.

The fundraiser event is free and open to the public. For more information or to reserve a ticket, visit https://tallystate.com/44E31Nq.
